Plant: Syzygium nervosum

Family: MYRTACEAE

Gowok (C.I.), Satinash (Aust.)

This is a tree to 40 m tall with a strongly buttressed trunk.
On Christmas Island it forms about 18% of the primary forest canopy and about 30% of emergent species.
It is widely distributed from India, southern China to the Philippines and northern Australia.
